Controversy Surrounding Movie Draws Crowds To Indie Theaters

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea made vague threats of “resolute and merciless” violence if the movie The Interview was released. As a result, major chain theaters in the United States canceled the Christmas Day premiere. But more than 300 independent theaters across the nation are showing the film. Among them is the Elks Theatre in Rapid City. SDPB’s Victoria Wicks watched the movie, took clips from the trailer online, and talked with Elks Theatre owner Curt Small to bring us this story.
