Sioux Falls Police now say a man they’re trying to identify is directly involved in a weekend death. Now they want to know if anyone saw the victim’s car early Saturday morning. Authorities are releasing more information after circulating surveillance video Wednesday.
Officials want people to look at grainy, black-and-white video to see if they recognize the man on tape. Sioux Falls police say he’s directly related in the case of 56-year-old Kari Kirkegaard’s death. Her body was found in her bathroom at her house, and preliminary testing indicates homicide.
Police say the man in question rode a bicycle into the area. They say he took the victim’s car early Saturday morning and returned the vehicle before daylight. Then he left on the bicycle.
Officers want people who saw Kirkegaard’s 1998 blue Ford Explorer with a number 15 window decal on the back to call Crime Stoppers at (605)367-7007. Authorities also want people to report any abandoned bicycles they see.
