Authorities want the public’s help identifying a man who may have information related to a weekend killing. Sioux Falls Police say a preliminary autopsy shows 56-year-old Kari Kirkegaard’s death was a homicide. A family member found her body in the bathroom at her central Sioux Falls home.

Authorities are calling him a person of interest. Officers say they need help figuring out who the man is, so they can discover whether he knows anything about a woman’s death nearby.
Police don’t have a suspect, so they encourage community members to remember general safety habits – like locking doors and paying attention to surroundings. Officials say they don’t believe the public is in danger.
