Rounds Shares Goals for Upcoming Congress

Senator-elect Mike Rounds says he and other Republicans want to make the Senate a place of debate and discussion, and want to see results. Rounds was in Washington D.C. for orientation last week. He says the Keystone XL pipeline is likely one of the first things Senators will discuss in January.

“Hopefully challenging once again the President and members of his party to support development of energy and to get the energy back down to where it can be produced,” Rounds says. “Get that pipeline moving, get the oil off the rails so that we can start moving our grain to market so our producers can get paid. I think it’s a very important thing to continue to work on.”

Rounds says he and his colleagues will work to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act on a section by section basis. He says immigration is also a main focus.
