International Car Rally Passing Through South Dakota

An international car rally association is traveling through North America and South Dakota is one of the stops.

The Endurance Rally Association is an organization out of England that organizes international car rallies. This year the association is hosting a rally from Nova Scotia to San Francisco, and will make a stop in western South Dakota. Julie Schmitz Jensen is the Rapid City Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Executive Director. She says the rally will see South Dakota’s major landmarks.

“You know they’re going to see some of the iconic attractions on this end of the state. I wish they could have spent a little more time in South Dakota, but at least they have time to see Mount Rushmore, Deadwood and Sturgis, spend the night in Rapid City. So we’re very excited that they’re coming this way that’s for sure,” says Schmitz Jensen.

The rally began on June 7th and the group plans to reach West River by June 19th. From Rapid City, the group travels to San Francisco by June 29th.
