Department Of Justice Asks For Help In Solving Pine Ridge Homicides

The U-S Attorney’s Office in Rapid City is looking for public help in solving two shooting deaths.  That office, along with the F-B-I and Bureau of Indian Affairs, are trying to solve the fatal shootings of 34-year-old Annie Colhoff, and 29-year-old Vincent Brewer the Third.  Colhoff was killed in Pine Ridge late last month, while Brewer was shot outside Pine Ridge last Sunday afternoon.  Supervisory Assistant U-S Attorney Gregg Petermann says officials will take any help that can lead to solving the homicides.

”Anything out of the ordinary—or that matter, anything ordinary, that folks can remember, that might have to cause their attention to bring them to that is extremely helpful.  A lot of incidents like that are often solved through tiplines and other means of communications through which citizens can provide critical information.”

Petermann says anyone with information to pass along could help in making arrests and convictions.

“Since 9-11, the expression is, ‘if you see something, say something.  Well, a similar kind of thing exists in cracking cases.  Did you see a person you hadn’t seen before?  Did you see a vehicle doing something unusual?  That’s why information from the public can be critical in solving cases.”

Anyone who has information to provide can call the following numbers:
