Vandhana Baireddy is Sioux Falls' first Human Rights Community Coordinator. It's a new position in the city attorney's office. City leaders say the role is important in a city with expanding diversity. Baireddy started the job earlier this month and says she'll target outreach to the diverse, underserved and vulnerable populations in the city.
Baireddy most recently worked at Great Western Bank as a business banking associate. Originally from India, her volunteer work includes serving as the vice president of the South Dakota Symphony League, a board member of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, the membership chair of Business and Professional Women of Sioux Falls, the international chair of Rotary West Sioux Falls, and a member of the Visual Arts Commission.
Vandhana Baireddy and assistant city attorney Colleen Moran joined Dakota Midday and discussed what the new position means for Sioux Falls.
