(WAVI) 6th Annual Walk-A-Mile In Her Shoes® Fundraiser Monday, July 17th Main Street Square: Working Against Violence, Inc. will host our 6th annual Walk-A-Mile In Her Shoes®. Walk-A-Mile is a nationally-recognized event designed to raise awareness and funds for the movement to end domestic and sexual violence against women. Walk-A-Mile events are held around the world to highlight and encourage men’s roles in ending these types of violence. In this event, men raise funds and will walk downtown wearing red high heels. Registration begins at 5:30 the walk will start at 6:00. Register, raise pledges and literally put yourself in her shoes—red high heels. WAVI served 2,017 clients in 2016, providing over 24,000 services. WAVI provided emergency safe shelter to 653 women and children in 2016, with a total of 9,886 shelter days.
