Whether South Dakota will accept refugees from Afghanistan remains unclear. Lutheran Social Services works to resettle refugees in South Dakota. Last month, host Jackie Hendry interviewed incoming President and CEO of Lutheran Social Services Rebecca Kiesow-Knudsen. They discussed the resettlement process and the future of the organization’s work through the Center for New Americans. The program also highlighted the workforce development program at the Multi-Cultural Center in Sioux Falls, which helps immigrants and all community members prepare for job interviews.
