The Corn Palace in Mitchell is preparing for its annual festival. This years festival has a performance from a Las Vegas entertainer.
Terry Fator is a ventriloquist, singer, comedian and impressionist who has a show at the Mirage in Las Vegas. In 2007, Fator won America's Got Talent which rewarded him with his very own show in Americas Sin City. Friday, Terry Fator brings his show to the Mitchell Corn Palace. Corn Palace Director Mark Shilling says having a show like this in South Dakota is a rare treat.
"This Friday we've got Terry Fator coming to the corn palace to be part of the corn palace festival. When we were first were looking at this show it was trying to figure out how we could get it done. You know how we could get financiallly; figure out how we could make it affordable to people to be able to attend. As well as get the arrangements, so that we could get him from Las Vegas to Mitchell and have an open date," Shilling says.
Shilling says the show plans to run for about an hour and a half. He says the show as of now has roughly 500 tickets remaining. Shilling says this could open the door for more acts like this in future years.
