Two South Dakota penitentiary inmates convicted of robbery and burglary are asking for a new trial.
Lawyers for the inmates told the state Supreme Court on Monday, May 24, that they should have been able to tell the jury about the victim's status as an illegal resident and how he might have a reason to lie about the crime.
