Tribes and environmentalists are celebrating a federal ruling that the Dakota Access Pipeline must be shut down by Aug. 5. That order came out of a District of Columbia federal court on Monday, July 6. In briefs, DAPL supporters laid out the economic hardships of shutting down almost 1,200 miles of pipe.
