Two Charges, One Trial For Child Abuse Defendant

A man previously convicted of child abuse is getting a new trial in Rapid City. Patrick White Face’s conviction was overturned by the South Dakota Supreme Court in December. Justices said the trial court failed to properly instruct the jury that it had to be unanimous in its findings on two separate alleged acts. White Face made an appearance in Seventh Circuit Court Tuesday before Judge Wally Ecklund. SDPB’s Victoria Wicks has been following this case.
