The state capital in Pierre is hosting women in purple shirts Monday. These women are attending the annual Women 4 women day. This event is women lobbying together to gain support for issues concerning South Dakota women. Naral Pro-Choice Executive Director Alisha Sedor says even though the issues are serious, the process of the day can still be rewarding.
"I think the most rewarding part is seeing all the women who are so passionate about these issues. Turning up to Pierre and talking to their legislators and sharing their views. It’s really empowering to be a part of their activism,” says Sedor.
Sedor says this is her third year being involved in Women 4 Women Day. She says there are a lot of issues being demonstrated today in regards to those issues. Sedor says abortion is one of the main issues being voiced by the group.
