Bill adding pink as hunter safety color heads to governor's desk

A bill allowing hunters to wear fluorescent pink is one step closer to becoming law.

The Senate unanimously approved HB 1228Monday.

Current state law recognizes blaze orange as the only official color to wear while hunting large game.

Bill supporters say bright pink also works as a safety color because it doesn’t appear in nature. They point out several other states have already adopted it as an official hunting safety color.

The bill now just needs the governor’s signature to become law.
