Governor Kristi Noem delivered her budget address before the South Dakota Legislature at the State Capitol in Pierre yesterday. The governor noted the state's 19-million-dollar surplus at the end of fiscal year 2020 and an unemployment rate of 3.6% - down from 11% in April.
The governor also opened her address by doubling down on her COVID-19 policies which have become national news.
On the panel for the first time, but not new to our program, is Dr. Pam Carriveau, Professor of Political Science at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, and from the eastern side of the state, we welcome back former South Dakota Senator Tom Dempster.
