The South Dakota Senate has passed a bill that restricts what it takes to meet in-state hunting and fishing licensing requirements.
The bill states applicants must have been in South Dakota for 90 days before applying for a license.
Being out of state for more than 180 days would disqualify you from claiming in-state status. Other disqualifying stipulations are registering to vote in another state or applying for another state’s drivers license.
The bill was introduced at the request of the Department of Game, Fish and Parks.
The bill passed the Senate unanimously on a 33-0 vote Wednesday. It now goes to the House floor for consideration.
