Ep. 6: 'Chess Piece in Their Power Struggle'

SDPB

The state’s first-ever impeachment inquiry begins as a group of lawmakers hear days of testimony. New details from the fatal crash involving Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg and pedestrian Joe Boever become publicly available.

But some raise concern that panel members are focusing on how law enforcement handled the crash investigation rather than Ravnsborg's actions. That includes Gov. Kristi Noem, who accuse some committee members of having a "political agenda."

Lawmakers on the panel push back, saying they’re being unduly pressured. Those concerns grow after a series of mysterious robocalls go out seeming to encourage people to support impeachment.

In this episode of Short Walk, we try to untangle a part of the process that baffled even those who had been following the case closely.
