Governor Kristi Noem's office is announcing another 'Freedom Works Here' ad, this one, featuring the state's executive as a nurse. The ad comes as legislative leaders are set to hold an inquiry into the $6.5 million national ad campaign.

A state Supreme Court decision has been returned in the case of State v. Elias Richard. In it, they found lower court proceedings did not prejudice Richard's original murder trial.

Three South Dakotans are facing charges in connection to a kidnapping in Indiana. Authorities issued an Amber alert this weekend after an 11-year-old girl was reported missing in northeast Indiana.

As the state tangles with on-again, off-again drought, there are indications conditions are improving going into 2024. However, the state isn't out of the woods just yet.
