From South Dakota to South Africa: The research of Christopher Anderson

On today's show...

We take a trip down the Missouri River with Lyssa Bruzelius. She's the executive director of the SD Missouri River Tourism Association and wraps up National Travel and Tourism Week with a list of water- and shore-based staycation ideas.

Dawn Marie Johnson shows us what's in a name. We talk about the new Marcella LeBeau Elementary School and the extraordinary South Dakotan it's named after.

While there are no wild chameleon species in the state, we do have an internationally known chameleon researcher. Christopher Anderson, Ph.D., is chair of the IUCN's Chameleon Specialist Group and an associate professor of biology at the University of South Dakota.

He discusses his South African fieldwork and what he's learned about the scaly critter.

Plus, we bring you the music and words of Mato Wayuhi. He played live in our studio and sat down for a conversation about music and artistry.
