Music for people with short attention spans

This segment originally aired on "In the Moment" on SDPB Radio.

On this episode of Fresh Tracks, our team of music aficionados bring you two examples of music for people with short attention spans.

The Dwarves: “Concept Album”
This album from The Dwarves covers 20 songs in 37 minutes. The first song is 33 seconds long.

If you haven't heard of The Dwarves, they're a group who spans the rock spectrum and has a bizarre reputation. They formed in the 1980s and are still going strong while doing everything they can to offend the music industry, including through very risqué album covers.

Liquid Mike: "S/T”
Liquid Mike's album "self-titled" or "S/T" features 11 power-pop-infused songs in 18 minutes. It's perfect short and dead-on TikTok music.

Chris Stapleton: “Higher”
Stapleton's song "South Dakota" is getting a lot of airplay right now, but it's not the first to mention our state. Bee Gees, Nanci Griffith, Afroman, Johnny Cash, Dwight Yoakam, Beatles, Big & Rich, and Red Hot Chili Peppers all mention South Dakota in their lyrics.

Larry, although retired as Assistant General Manager for SDPB, continues to write, host, and do media production and voice work for SDPB.
