The 2017 Folk Off winner for the Sioux River Folk Fest is Lil’ Red and the Medicated Moose Band. They're a married musical couple and they're joining us live from our studios at the University of South Dakota for this week's Moment in Sound. They play at Sioux River Folk Fest in Canton tonight at 6 p.m.

An engineering student from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology has developed a large social media following...for his photography. He has nearly 25 thousand follow him on Instagram. His feed features crisp, detailed images of the night sky. SDPB's Chynna Lockett followed him to a secluded landscape while he captured the scene.

Garrison Keillor returns to the stage. He's bringing the Prairie Home Love and Comedy Tour to the Washington Pavilion on Friday, August 11 at 7:30 p.m. Keillor hosted the radio variety show "Prarie Home Companion from 1974 to 2016" before retiring to spend more time writing. He writes a column for the Washington Post. We feature the full interview for you next week on In the Moment. But first, some excerpts.

An opening reception featuring the artwork of our next guest is today at 4pm at the Sioux Indian Museum which is located inside the Journey Museum in Rapid City. Born and raised on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation, Tani Gordon is a talented, emerging artist who creates pen and ink drawings as well as acrylic paintings. She joins us now on the phone from Custer to discuss her work.
