Today we bring you one of the highlights from the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra season. In January, the symphony performed Theodore Wiprud's Sinfonietta. It was the world premiere of the piece.

Ted Wiprud is a composer, a concert presenter, educator and music executive. He currently serves as Vice President of Education for the New York Philharmonic.

Andre Larson helped put the town of Vermillion on the map as founding director of the National Music Museum. Working with the University of South Dakota and the South Dakota Arts Council, Larson founded what was then known as the Shrine to Music Museum in 1973. Larson died last week at the age of 74. SDPB's Jeremy Ludemann spoke with USD Foundation President Emeritus and Vermillion resident Ted Muenster about Larson's legacy.

David Burrow is associate professor of History at the University of South Dakota.  He's talking about Soviet propaganda this week as part of the University of South Dakota's "Sound, Color, Shape." It's an interdisciplinary symposium that explores the human experience through music, art, drama, neuroscience, history, mathematics and words.
