Alzheimer’s disease robs victims of their memories, their independence, and eventually their lives. In a new one-hour documentary, NOVA transports you to the front lines of a fast-paced life-and-death detective story. It’s a look at how doctors, researchers and patients across the globe are racing to develop new treatments that could stop one of the most pressing global health challenges of our time.

Sarah Holt is a three-time Emmy winner and a producer for the NOVA special “Can Alzheimer’s Be Stopped?” She sits down with Dakota Midday host Lori Walsh to talk about the drama of clinical trials, the human face of Alzheimer's, and the power of a hope, as well as a good nap.

The show airs tomorrow night on SDPB-TV. We caught up with Sarah Holt in Los Angeles.
