Rosalie Little Thunder Mourned In SD

Prominent Lakota language teacher, activist, author, artist and elder Rosalie Little Thunder died on August 9th at the age of 64.    Little Thunder’s work ranged widely from Lakota language preservation to restoring buffalo on the Great Plains.

A wake is planned for Thursday evening in Rapid City at the Mother Butler Center.   A second wake is scheduled on Friday evening at the He Dog School in Parmelee,  followed by the funeral and burial at the White Horse Cemetery on Saturday.  For more information you can visit the Osheim and Schmidt funeral home website here.
