Alcohol Referendum Too Close To Call

Pine Ridge residents have to wait a little longer to hear the results of a referendum that would end the tribal prohibition of alcohol. Officials say the results are too close to call without more careful examination.    As of election night the results stand at 1,645 in favor of allowing alcohol sales on the reservation,  1,494 against, and 568 challenge ballots.  The official tally may come in on Wednesday but could take as long as Friday to confirm.
