The state Department of Health reports:
- New cases: 439 (-7.5% from Thursday)
- State’s death toll: 2,062 (+2 from Thursday)
- Active COVID Cases: 3,992 (+9% from Thursday)
- Completed full vaccine series (12 and older): 56.07% (+0.13% from Thursday)
- The state has surpassed 400,000 people who've received some level of vaccination.
- Currently Hospitalized: 168 (+12 net from Thursday)
- Note: Currently Hospitalized numbers include COVID-19 cases and people that are in the hospital under transmission-based precautions. The number may include out-of-state cases and people.
- 4.4% of adult ICU beds are available in the Black Hills region.
The South Dakota Department of Health says, "The more the virus that causes COVID-19 circulates in a community, the more opportunities it has to transform into variants that can spread more easily. Help stop the spread and further mutation of the Coronavirus by getting vaccinated."
