The search is on for the next president of Black Hills State University in Spearfish.
Current president Laurie Nichols announced her impending retirement weeks ago.
Representatives with the state Board of Regents and the community are leading the hiring effort. In hiring materials, the university says they’re looking for a strategic, forward-looking candidate.
The university will close the application period in late September. It is unclear when the next president will be named.
