This interview originally aired on In the Moment on SDPB Radio.

When Lorraine Coronato learned her university had above average rates of students in poverty, she wanted to help. So she started the Free Store.

The store at Black Hills State University provides food, clothing, dorm items, kitchenware and more—all for free. Its goal is to alleviate some of the everyday expenses of college for low-income and first-generation students.

Coronato joins In the Moment to discuss why every university needs a Free Store.
