This interview originally aired on "In the Moment" on SDPB Radio.

PBS FRONTLINE and The Associated Press recently partnered up for a nationwide investigation. They tallied deaths that occurred from 2012 to 2021 after police encounters where officers used what are called "less-lethal" tactics.

The investigation includes an online interactive story, database and FRONTLINE film. The documentary, "Documenting Police Use of Force," premieres on Tuesday.

Serginho Roosblad is director, producer and writer of the FRONTLINE film. He speaks with SDPB's Jackie Hendry about the 1,036 deaths uncovered by the investigation.

Jackie is based out of SDPB's Sioux Falls Studio.
Ellen Koester is a producer of In the Moment, SDPB's daily news and culture broadcast.
