A shooting is under investigation in Sturgis just as thousands of bikers are filling the city for the 2023 motorcycle rally.
Attorney General Marty Jackley's office confirms an officer-involved shooting happened early Wednesday.
One person was injured. No officers were hurt.
A spokesperson for Jackley's office said the shooting took place on a roadway in Sturgis. Investigators are working to determine if it was related to the rally.
No other details have been released.
The state DCI is leading the investigation, which is standard for any officer-involved shooting.
