Nurse faces charges for allegedly switching medications

A registered nurse from Tea faces charges for allegedly tampering with medications.

Brittany Enstad was indicted for Tampering with Consumer Products and Obtaining Controlled Substances by Misrepresentation, Fraud, Forgery, Deception, and Subterfuge, according to court documents.

The documents state that between July 2022 and December 2022, Enstad tampered with blister packs containing Oxycontin, Hydrocodone Bitartrate, Oxycodone Hydrochloride, Oxycodone and Acetaminophen.

She allegedly removed these medications from the packs and replaced them with other medicine. She is also accused of intentionally acquiring these same medications, which are all Schedule II controlled substances.

Enstad pleaded not guilty. If convicted, she could receive up to 10 years in prison among other penalties.
