“Navigating Narratives”, reception and poetry reading

“Navigating Narratives”, reception and poetry reading

The exhibition “Navigating Narratives,” focuses on the eight days in 1804 that the Corps of Discovery was in Titonwan territory. It examines the interactions between Titonwan citizens and Corps members through their first-person accounts of September 23 to September 30.

Some of the talented poets featured in the exhibition will share their poignant verses, which aim to capture the essence of these historic interactions and their contemporary outcomes. Craig Howe of CAIRNS (Center for American Indian Research and Native Studies) will host this evening of poetry.

Light refreshments will be served as we come together to engage with art, history, and the power of poetry. We hope you will join us for this unique opportunity to reexamine this history. Save the date and join us for an evening of reflection and creativity! 🌟🖼️ #NavigatingNarratives #ArtandPoetry #SDArtMuseum
