State officials award over $55 million for new rural developments

The Governor’s Office of Economic Development has approved two state projects totaling over $55 million.

One project, a new dairy farm in Kingsbury County, is expected to establish an operation of up to 20,000 milk cows and add 100 full-time jobs.

Riverview LLP of Kingsbury County requested the $55 million money in the form of a tax-exempt livestock nutrient management bond. The new dairy was issued the bond to acquire property, prepare a site, and develop a waste management system.

GOED also awarded SWAT Chiropractic and Rehab center in Yankton a loan of $155,000 dollars to help construct a new hosing clinic and gym space.
