The Department of Transportation will begin phase three of the 41st Street construction project in Sioux Falls next week.

Starting Monday, Mar. 18, 2024, crews will focus on transitioning the intersection into a functional diverging diamond interchange.

That means traffic will shift to one lane in each direction on the south side of 41st Street from Terry Avenue to the east side of the bridge.

Officials say they’ll have traffic control measures in place to guide drivers around the closures, but urge people to reduce their speed and use caution while driving through the area. The DOT will reroute pedestrian traffic to 26th or 49th Streets.

Construction began on the project in 2022 and is expected to be complete this summer.
