South Dakota and Gov. Kristi Noem win Site Selection Magazine’s 2023 Governor’s Cup.

The award is for having the most economic development projects per capita in the nation.

"Business are very reassured by the level-headed, common-sense leadership that makes this a state that's 'Open for Business,'" said Noem.

Site Selection is an international publication covering corporate real estate and economic development.

In the past couple years, South Dakota has ranked in the top 5 for the Governor’s Cup, though this is the first time the state has claimed the top spot.
