Construction on U.S. Highway 385 this year will reduce access to recreation facilities at Pactola Reservoir.
South Dakota Department of Transportation officials said the recreation area, just west of Rapid City, will see closures or changes to access starting May 20.
Facilities impacted include:
- North Boat Ramp- accessible only on weekends May 20-June 7.
- Veteran's Point- accessible only from the south May 20- July 12.
- Rapid Creek Trailhead- accessible only from the south May 20-July 12.
- Centennial Trail- rerouted around construction.
- Visitor Center- accessible only from the south May 20- July 12
- Campgrounds- accessible only from the south May 20- July 12
- South Boat Launch- accessible only from the south May 20- July 12
- Marina- accessible only from the south May 20- July 12
