A melody of harpists can be heard in Sioux Falls next week. The American Harp Society returns for its annual conference.

It's been 44 years since the conference was last held in Sioux Falls. Planned events include concerts, workshops with the Augustana School of Music, and a performance by the Israeli chamber project featuring Sivan Magan, one of the world's best harpists.

Anna Vorhes has played with the Sioux City and South Dakota symphonies. She says there are few harpists around Sioux Falls who weren't her students.

"The longer I work with the national and international harp communities the better harpist I am, the more I understand the diversity of our instrument, and the more friends I have everywhere!" says Vorhes.

The conference is June 22-25 at the Washington Pavilion, First Congregational Church and First Lutheran Church. All evening concerts will be open to the public with tickets available at the door for $25 per person.

For a full list of events, check out the conference website.
