Renovations at St. Anthony of Padua
Gloria Duenwald

This interview is from SDPB's daily public-affairs show, In the Moment, hosted by Lori Walsh.

St. Anthony of Padua catholic church in Hoven, South Dakota has a storied history. Nicknamed the "Cathedral of the Prairie," this big church in a little town draws visitors from all across the state.

Its annual pre-Christmas concert featuring the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra fills the church to capacity every December.

Church members Gloria Duenwald and Jerry Brickner join In the Moment with Lori Walsh. They share stories from the church's history and offer details on efforts to restore the church to how it appeared back in 1921.
