The Mickelson Trail follows 110-miles of abandoned railroad through the Black Hills. In its heyday, the route connected Deadwood and Edgemont.

Rick Mills is the director and curator of the South Dakota State Railroad Museum and will present "Mileposts on the Mickelson Trail: 130-year retrospective" Thursday, March 3, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on the campus of Black Hills State University.
