Dakota Midday: 'Putin's Way'

Russia’s annexation of Crimea, the pro-Russia separatist battle in eastern Ukraine and a deepening economic crisis have observers wondering what Russian president Vladimir Putin will do next. A new Frontline report  goes behind the latest headlines and investigates Putin’s ascent from an unemployed KGB agent to a modern-day czar.

Tracing his career back over two decades, Putin's Way reveals how the accumulation of wealth and power has led to autocratic rule and the specter of a new Cold War. Putin's Way was produced by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. It airs Tuesday on SDPB1-TV at 9 pm, CT; 8 pm, MT. CBC correspondent Gillian Findlay joined Dakota Midday and discussed Putin's path to power.
