Sioux Falls Storm Re-Sign Veteran Quarterback

Sioux Falls Storm

The Sioux Falls Storm professional indoor football team has re-signed quarterback Martevious Young for the upcoming season. His main duty is replacing quarterback Chris Dixon, who is arguably one of the best indoor football players of all-time. This is exciting news for the Storm organization, as many fans believe Young to be a key part in the team’s offensive future.

During the 2013 season, Young threw for 455 yards and seven touchdowns, while running for 175 yards and 13 touchdowns. He then tore his MCL, which ended his season. In 2014 Young threw for 700 yards and 11 touchdowns, while rushing for 271 yards and four touchdowns.

Storm Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs says he’s excited to have Young back with the team.

“To have a veteran QB that is familiar with our system and our expectations is huge,” says Coach Riggs.  “[Young] brings all the qualities we expect in our athletes and takes them to a new level.  Aside from his tremendous work ethic and dedication he is a great person and great role model.”

Young is an athletic type of football player who can throw, run and catch if necessary.

The Sioux Falls Storm are an eight-time indoor football champion (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014), and they’ll be looking for their fifth straight title this season.

Sioux Falls begins their 2015 campaign on February 28 with a road game against the Bemidji Axemen. Their home opener is on March 28 against the Billings Wolves, who are head coached by former Storm quarterback Chris Dixon.
