It was on the 43rd anniversary of Tommy Bolin's death that the National Music Museum installed a pop-up exhibit honoring the late guitarist at the Dakota Brickhouse in Vermillion. The famed guitarist was a member of bands like Deep Purple, the James Gang and Zephyr, in addition to his own Tommy Bolin Band. Guitarist T. Wilson King of Vermillion played a selection of Bolin's songs at the installation of the new exhibit and he joins us from our Vermillion studio to visit about Bolin's connection to this region.

The National Music Museum in Vermillion kicks off its 2016 Live! series this week. T. Wilson King will play four guitars from the museum's collection. The guitarist and Arian Sheets, curator of the museum's stringed instruments, discuss the nature of improvisation, expansion efforts at the museum, and how live music plays to the overall mission of art and history.
