Since the coronavirus pandemic began, testing has been key to slow the spread of COVID-19. It's also become key to a certain peace of mind for South Dakotans. Today we're talking about coronavirus testing done in-house at Avera and how the health system was poised to respond to the need because of existing infrastructure and expertise.

10 South Dakotans Join Hall Of Fame

The South Dakota Hall of Fame is inducting 10 new members this year. South Dakotans who excel in their careers are chosen for recognition in the Hall of Fame.

Each year the South Dakota Hall of Fame reviews about 60 applications and then selects a handful of leaders from across the state.

Farm Bill Very Close To Passing Legislation

The House of Representatives passed a new farm bill on Wednesday, setting the stage for final passage of a new five-year farm bill that has been stalled for over two years.  The bill passed the House by a vote of 251 to 166.  The Senate is expected to take up the bill later this week.  Negotiators from the House and Senate, including South Dakota Congresswoman Kristi Nom spent several weeks working out their differences on issues in the legislation, including cuts to food stamps, income caps on farm subsidies and a price support program for dairy farmers.
