ws anCabot-Ann Christofferson is the Liaison and Deputy Director of the Majorana Project at the Sanford Underground Research Facility as well as an Instructor in the South Dakota School of Mines Chemistry and Applied Biological Sciences Department.

The Majorana Demostrator Collaboration Project began in 2010 with growing clean copper to build the experiment.

Cabot-Ann Christofferson is the featured speaker at this month's STEAM Cafe at Hay Camp Brewing Company tomorrow evening.

Garrison Keillor brings the Prairie Home Love and Comedy Tour to the Washington Pavilion on Friday, August 11 at 7:30 p.m. Keillor hosted the radio variety show "Prairie Home Companion” from 1974 to 2016 before retiring to spend more time writing. He writes a column for the Washington Post. Host Lori Walsh spent time with Garrison Keillor last week. They talked about writing, radio, and the never-ending delights of the Minnesota State Fair.

The 2017 ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest  is coming to Rapid City in May.
Officials say the contest is geared toward finding the best critical thinkers in the world to solve extremely complex computer coding problems.  

Dr. Dick Gowen spearheaded the project to get the ICPC to Rapid City.  He told the Black Hills Forum and Press Club in today’s technology driven world cyber security and hacking have become two major issues to address.
