Last week the Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Society announced Alexandra Gilbert-Schrag as its new executive director.

Gilbert-Schrag's experience with non-profits includes festival production and event coordination. She previously worked for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., before returning to South Dakota to be close to family.

Alex joins us to discuss what she will bring to the Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Society.

Singer, actor, and teacher Joseph Mahowald graduated from Huron High School in 1977. He went on to study music and voice at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, graduating Magna Cum Laude. By 1987 he was working on Broadway as a member of the original cast of 'Les Miserables.'

Lynette Two Bulls is a 2016 First People's Fund Community Spirit Award winner alongside Phillip Whiteman Junior. Two Bulls is a traditional storyteller, performing artist and culture bearer. She joined Dakota Midday along with First People's Fund President Lori Pourier.
