And, though she doesn't recognize Kimberly, she lights up every time her daughter opens up the guitar case. It's the spark that led Kimberly to embark on her Passion Project 2020.

The Lakota Music Project has returned from their residency in Washington D.C. where they performed at the Washington National Cathedral and the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian. The trip marks the first time the Lakota Music Project has performed outside of South Dakota.

The saying, "find the thing that you love and then do it every day for the rest of your life," describes John Colson's career in education. The professor emeritus of music at South Dakota State University is being recognized next Tuesday for Outstanding Service in Arts Education at the Governor's Awards in the Arts.

Colson is a high brass teacher of more than 50 years. He continues to teach and mentor into his retirement.

You Knew Me When has been touring for the better part of six years. The indie folk-rock duo is the husband/wife collaboration of Cie and Karisa Hoover, and they present a full-band sound by using an array of instruments.

You Knew Me When is currently touring on their third studio album, "Into the Looking Glass," released in 2017.

They join us for Moment in Sound.

The album Morning Flower is a collaboration between Los Angeles folk musician Itasca and Spearfish born and raised poet, artist and ecologist Gunnar Tchida.

The album was released in February by Dove Cove records. Tchida crafted the album artwork and song titles for the project.

Tchida describes herself as a Minneapolis art school dropout. She went on to earn a degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Montana.

Sian Young, executive director of the Matthews Opera House, joined In The Moment for a season preview.

Andrew Rogers – in home music lessons designed for children and young adults. Uses a unique teaching style that leaves students eager to learn more and has proven retention. Its mission is to deliver academic understanding of music theory in a fun approach by learning current songs. Currently ready to expand its team.

Reina del Cid kicks off her summer tour with a stop in Sioux Falls at the Icon Lounge. She joins SDPB's Lori Walsh for a conversation about how this English Major turned singer/songwriter creates music worth showing up for.
