From Einstein's special theory of relativity to comparisons between the universe and a violin, Nag talks about mathematics, physics, and the future of science education that capitalizes on collaboration and imagination. Nag was a recent "Geek Speak" lecturer at BHSU in Spearfish.

Black Hills State University’s most recent Geek Speak lecture series featured an open discussion about the objectification of women. The presentation, by university professors, touched on what’s called raunch culture.

Four Black Hills State University, or BHSU, faculty stood in front of a crowd of nearly 65 people. A screen behind them flipped through photos of advertisements, music videos and movie scenes featuring women wearing underwear and short dresses.

Black Hills State University Math Professor Dr. Dan May is talking music this week. He says he wants to give students what they say they’re interested in – rock music. Actually, the rise and fall of rock music.

Dr. Dan May tracks the history of independent bands and labels throughout the 1980’s in is talk “Love Me I’m Rich: The Rise and Fall of American Alternative Music”.

May says the Seattle-based, grunge-band Nirvana wasn’t part of the rise – it was the rise of American alternative music.
