The Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society welcomed Amanda Shaw & The Cute Guys to the Orpheum Theater in Sioux Falls on March 8, 2013.  Shaw's career began at the age of four as she studied classical violin.  By the age of eight, she was hooked on Cajun fiddle music.  The singer/fiddler/actress has been performing with The Cute Guys since she was 10.  Now 22, Shaw continues to perform internationally while embracing her Louisiana roots.

This week we're doing something a little different - we're airing an SDPB Television documentary called The Deadwood Songbook. It features a concert recorded before a live audience at the Homestake Opera House in Lead on July 11th, 2008. The Deadwood Songbook project was spearheaded by the Adams Museum in Deadwood and South Dakota musician Hank Harris several years ago. The project resulted in two CD's and many, many performances around South Dakota - that was before this TV production.
