Since 2007, Sherry DeBoer has been at the helm of the South Dakota Humanities Council as Executive Director. DeBoer has played a pivotal role in promoting reading and literature across the state.

As her tenure comes to an end this month, the Humanities Council welcomes Ann Volin as its new Executive Director. Volin is the former director of the Aylward-Dunn Learning Center at Rockhurst University in Kansas City. She returns to Brookings where she grew up and later attended South Dakota State University.
